 TMSA President Christopher Darsow

Title: Supv, Fleet Serv Warranty

Years at Metro Transit: 3

What I do: Metro Transit’s bus warranty department is responsible for holding our suppliers, vendors, and equipment manufacturers accountable for the warranty agreements they have made with the Metropolitan Council. I collaborate with external teams and contacts to execute warranty work at maintenance garages, provide training to maintenance personnel on warranty best practices, and have other duties as assigned.

My TMSA duties:

  • Preside at all meetings of the Board of Directors
  • Oversee the long-term goals and purposes of the Association
  • Negotiate or themselves, appoint, delegate, or hire a representative to negotiate a contract regarding working conditions, wages, seniority, job duties, and responsibilities, and other appropriate matters with Metro Transit
  • Handle routine correspondence and communicate with Members
  • Co-sign checks for authorized disbursement of funds with the Secretary/Treasurer
  • Perform such other duties as may be determined from time to time by the Board of Directors.

TMSA Vice President Maria Cone

Title: Manager of Market Development

Years at Metro Transit: 25

What I do: I manage marketing staff and related aspects of the Marketing and Transit Information Division. This includes but is not limited to; ridership-building marketing campaigns and promotions, partnerships & events, product marketing (such as fare pass programs), Technology and Customer tool development, Advertising Revenue contract, and Research/Survey initiatives

My TMSA Duties:  As Vice President, I am the back-up for the President when they cannot attend meetings.  Help with contract language and interpretation, negotiate contract, attend grievances and arbritrations.

TMSA Secretary Treasurer Mark Lawson

Title: Assistant Transportation Manager (Bus)

Years at Metro Transit: 24

What I do: I assist in planning, supervising and management of daily activities and overall performance of bus operators and dispatching staff within one of Metro Transit’s bus garages.  I began my career as a bus operator in 1999.  I have held several positions over the years, including some in union leadership prior to TMSA.  I joined TMSA in November of 2019 when I became an ATM.

My TMSA duties: As TMSA Secretary/Treasurer, I’m responsible for maintaining all the Union’s records, membership list, payroll, taxes, insurance, and bank accounts.

Maria Cone Support Staff 

Title: Manager of Market Development

Eli Miller Bus Transportation

What I do: 

My TMSA duties: I represent Bus Transportation managers, assistant managers, street supervisors and TCC supervisors.

Emily Bollensen Bus Maintenance

Title: Overhaul Base Garage Manager

Years at Metro Transit: 9

What I do: Manage the overall operations of the Overhaul base which house about 100 employees and has four different shops including the body shop, non-revenue shop, unit overhaul shop and brake shop.

My TMSA duties: As TMSA’s Bus Maintenance Director, I assist all managers and supervisors in matters pertaining to the TMSA contract, upper management, and arbitrations, and answer questions from the group.

Thorton Ridder Rail 

Title: Rail Transit Supervisor

Years at Metro Transit: 6

What I do: I supervise, manage, and coordinate all aspects of light rail movements. This includes but is not limited to major events, planned and unplanned maintenance, emergencies, mechanical troubleshooting, and emergency management.

My TMSA duties: I represent Rail Transportation managers, assistant managers, and supervisors.
