Election Notice 2016
In accordance with the TMSA By-Laws, the following TMSA Board positions are up for election this fall.
– Vice President
– Director, Bus Transportation – This includes all members whose Chain of Supervision eventually reports to the Director of Bus Transportation, Christy Bailly.
– Director, Support Staff – This includes those members whose Chain of Supervision does not report to Mark Benedict, Dan Suggs, Christy Bailly, Rob Milleson, or John Paul Zanaska. (e.g. Finance, Facility Maintenance, etc.)
For qualifications and voting rights please see the By-Laws that are posted on this website. Specifically,
– Section 2.7 Voting Rights
– Section 3.3 Terms of Directors
– Section 4.1 Election of Officers
– Article V Election of Officers and Directors
To capsulize those sections,
– Directors must be regular members (not fair share members). The member running for the position does not have to be from that group (e.g. an RCC supervisor could represent Support Staff). However, members from outside the group are only considered if no one from that group runs for the position. Directors serve for two years.
– The Vice President must be a regular member (not fair share member). The member running must have attended at least half of the General Membership meeting for the last year. Vice Presidents serve for three years.
If you would like to run for one of these positions:
– No later than 11:59 PM on September 13, 2016 send an email to Chris Haefner and Paul Slesar stating your desire and for which office you wish to run.
– The ballots will be distributed to your work location on October 14, 2016.
– The ballot boxes will be placed in work areas on October 14, 2016.
– Ballot boxes will be collected after Noon on October 21, 2016. Ballots not in the ballot box by that time will not be accepted.
